Will look forward to hearing about it. My biggest problem with my wet mix is stability. In the videos, Charles mixes his and applies it to his face with his fingertips. Mine never seems to look or behave like his. I have never liked "stretching the mix" or going over and over the same areas the way he does. I mix and apply, and it is off to the races.

In comparing MS and traditional methods, this is my area of contention. I like to apply wet mix/soap/cream, then either cut a form or pass. If I have to work quickly or try to stretch the mix, I end up with a slippery grip on the razor and disappearing mix....both lead to nicks.

As luck would have it, my order arrived today containing a sample of Cutting Balm. This is like NOTHING I've seen, much less, used before!  It's a 'milk' and it mixes with water and it's really slippery too. Can't wait to try it in the mix.

I maintain that Hydrolast mix should be much like mixing biscuit dough. Some of this. A little of that and just a touch of that too . . . . !  Voila, another way to the perfect shaving experience!

Expecting delivery of 'new cube' and #2 paste. I'll be reordering CB before month's end.  I'm thinking #2 as well.  HydroLast is only one that doesn't aggravate my face and with my looks, that means a lot to me!

I keep seeing rave reviews for #2 CB (but not here). I plan to order some, and change this!

I agree....each time I view them (just like Mantic's tutorials) I seem to pick up little tidbits every time I see them. If I could wish for coverage of one specific topic, I think I'd like to something like, "Troubleshooting the RMWS".

I like to hear things like: to increase the stability of your wet mix, add a little more cutting balm, etc.

In case there are others who, like myself, are following this forum and hoping to see a resurgence in participation, I thought I would point out these videos. Up until now, the 33min "Start-to-Finish" video posted on Shaving101 (hat tip to Mike) has been the standard for those of us who have taken up the RMWS in the past year or so.  Mantic's videos are excellent, but dated. This new series covers the whole process, including the cutting forms, in a range of short videos.

I haven't seen any mention of these on the Enchante web site, so here is how to access them: simply go to YouTube and subscribe to the series posted under: methodshaving. Once you have the subscription, simply watch the videos and check back periodically for any updates.

If he did make them, it would seem they would be a side-item, solely for convenience. The products you suggested be combined, are all things that can be varied to a specific shaver's needs. Combinning them would seem to work against the dynamic nature of RMWS.

Have you read Mike's new articles about water quality?
- Yes I've read them. Water in central California is hard as nails. I'll need to experiment a bit to rule out hard water harassment. LOL

BTW: Shaving sticks would require a rather sophisticated method of production, I imagine Charles has many things to consider.
